About Wispr

Wispr helps two devices exchange a file or a short piece of text directly in their browsers. No account or app installation is required.

How to connect

  1. Keep Wispr open on both devices.
  2. On device A, click Create invitation. Copy its full connection link and share it privately with device B.
  3. On B, open or paste that invitation and click Apply link. Copy the generated response link back to A.
  4. On A, paste the response into the original tab and click Apply link.
  5. Compare verification codes, then send a file or text. The receiver must accept each file.

No pairing server is used. Long links may be truncated by messaging apps; copy the entire link. Links are temporary connection information, not permanent file download links. Closing or refreshing either tab ends the session; use a fresh invitation to reconnect.

Connection limits

WebRTC tries a direct, encrypted connection using public STUN services. This version does not include TURN relaying. Some NAT configurations, campus networks, AP isolation, VPNs, and firewalls will prevent a connection. Try a personal hotspot or a different network.

Large files

Where supported, the receiver can select a file on disk and stream incoming data to it. Other browsers receive files into memory and are limited to 128 MiB per file here. Keep both pages open and devices awake. Transfers cannot resume after disconnection. No universal 100 GB transfer capability is promised.
